Right after breakfast we went back to the castle where we watched the sun set last night. We climbed on the rocks again, and when we got there we found out it was closed to the public…
SPAIN SCORED!!!!
In OT!! The game just ended, I can here everyone cheering, honking, and cannons?? or are they fireworks??
We won’t be able to sleep tonight ;)
…anyway, we stopped to watch the tide come in; it came in really fast! In less than five minutes there was at least one foot of water where there had been none before.
We bought some bread for lunch, and came back to eat. After a break we headed out to the beach again. We were there at high tide, and tomorrow we will get up early to see low tide and walk out as far as we can go.
People are still cheering: GO! GO! ESPANA! ESPANA! ESPANA! And cars are honking to the beat.
After the beach we came back to change and find a place to eat and watch the game. We watched the first half there, and then went somewhere else to watch until the end of regular time. After that we had to go so we wouldn’t miss the last bus home. Dad couldn’t figure out how to work the TV so we relied on the sound of cheers to tell us what happened. I had just sat down to write this when Spain scored. I spent a few minutes double-checking that it was Spain, and then we tried to see what happened, but we couldn’t find a replay. The game is now over, but the noise is still a long while from stopping.
