Oakville Day 5

Colette and Jonah left today. They are going to Hawaii for the rest of their vacation, we said good bye in the morning and Jiddo took them to the airport. The rest of the day was really awesome. We went to the Hockey Hall of Fame and it was amazing! We saw lots of famous players and their old gear, and they had Sidney Crosby’s gloves, stick, puck and net that he scored the winning Olympic goal with. We watch a movie about hockey players and what their daily life is like, it was really funny. Ben and I played this cool game where you shoot pucks at a goalie on a screen and try to score; it’s harder than it looks. Ben didn’t get any goals, but I got one. Alia played another game and she was a goalie. There would be a game clip on the screen in front of her and then a puck would shoot out of the wall; she made four saves out of five! We walked to the other side to go see the Stanley Cup, and Dad took a picture of us touching it.

After that we went to meet Uncle Mark at this huge indoor market for lunch. They were filming a commercial for one of the stores there, and speaking of commercials, Michelle got to meet Alex Ovechkin at the airport because he was filming a commercial!

We went back to the Hall of Fame after lunch and watched a movie about the Stanley Cup. On the way out we picked up some Hockey memorabilia, and I got a cool shirt. Alia almost went insane because of all the Luongo stuff they had in there.

We drove to Bella’s house next for a visit. We mostly just talked, cooked and Dad took pictures of everyone. Uncle John made so much food there and it was really good. There was cheese and lamb on sticks for appetizers, pork sandwiches and homemade pizza for dinner, and pie and ice cream for dessert. After dinner we listened to the record player and Uncle John put on different records, it was amazing. They also have a typewriter, but it doesn’t work anymore. All in all it was a long exciting day, today we are just going to take it easy, maybe go see a move, and hang out.
